CLAY COLLECTION
Do you want to learn how to make two Clay Collection cups? Marin gives workshops in small groups of 2-4 people. During this workshop you learn the basics of slip casting with stoneware and to work with wild clay. You mix the wild clay yourself and choose the colors and structures based on samples to form a beautiful set. Are you interested, ask for the possibilities to make a reservation, or take a look on the available data in de webshop. There are a few spots left on the 1st of November.
WILD CLAY
For the ‘Clay Collection’, Marin uses wild river and sea clay collected from various places in the Netherlands. Unique characteristics and identities become visible and emerge after processing the wild clay. The products in the ‘Clay Collection’ show a range of color nuances and different textures that can be combined endlessly. The shapes are inspired on the parcels of the polder landscape, bringing culture and nature together.
In the Clay Collection Marin use wild clay she harvest herself. She is always curious about new places to collect samples. To see that each place has his own history and story within the soil that we live on. With her experimental approach, Marin likes to explore the way the clay behaves and which techniques can be used. Each clay had different specifications and identities and is tested for properties in plasticity, texture and color. She likes to research how techniques influence the result and how the wild clay can be applied in different ways.
24 FEBRUARI - 30 APRIL 2024
Marin has created new work that is on show for the first time during this groep exhibition ‘Interactie’ in Buren. In this exhibition, the products from the Clay Collection interact with her new mixed-media paintings 'Colors of Earth’, the paintings by Yvonne Dolk and the assemblages by Marga Janssen.
Color, shape en the way they use material in a tactile way are the connecting elements for a colorful and atmospheric exhibition.
